Welcome to La Estancia polo club and our website!

The season 2008 was a very active one for our club and saw our members playing almost “around the world”. Argentina, the US, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Sweden, Slovakia, Czechia, Poland and Spain were the countries you could find our members playing. The famous “La Estancia Polo Open Budapest” was held in 2009 under the name “Balaton Open” at the Hungarian “sea side” at lake Balaton. The further improved facilities and new playing members made our club one of the most attractive in the country and the region. Being one of the driving forces of polo in central Europe and the Central European Polo Association (founded in march 2009), La Estancia Polo Club has helped to develop the sport in the area. Even while facing a difficult economical environment, we managed to preserve our activity on a high social and sportive level. The newly established “Polo Association of Hungary”, together with our friends from “Kali Polo Club” and “El Balena Polo Club”, will help to further develop the sport in the country and to open polo to a wither part of the society. Being the recognized “governing body of polo in Hungary” by FIP and CEPA our new association is open to work together with everybody interested in the sport. Today Hungary has about 25 active polo player and 4 active polo clubs.

For 2009 we have many plans and targets. Beside of supporting the new players and beginners in improving their game we will have our routine of club chukkers and games mainly during the weekend. On 11-13 june the “Budapest Polo Open” tournament will take place at La Estancia. As a part of the Central European Polo Tour, this tournament will see many national and international polo people joining this high profile event. In September, the European Polo Championship will be hosted by our partner club in Ebreichsdorf/Austria.
